On packing and Sorting

Whenever you are thinking of moving its a challenge not least because having to sort out what to take and what to keep. Now this is a bigger or smaller challenge depending on where you move. If you move to some countries, namely western Europe, you can move your whole house practically. Though it might be a bit expensive, it would not be to excruciating. The problem is that when thinking of moving to Central Asia, to ship anything is astronomical. So the question really becomes less of a question, “do I keep it?”  And more of a question, “What can I keep?”

While it is difficult to sort out what to keep and get rid of at all times. The reallity is that there really is limited space. Beyond all that we really don’t want to keep most things. When will they ever be used again.

What we want to keep then is very rememberal things, things that were very significant to our lives and things that we will need or maybe probably need in the future. The problem though is that this fits a lot of things, namely books for me. Books take up a lot of room and cost a lot to replace if they can even be found, but why keep something that will never be used, or could be used by someone else.

The real challenge is figureing out what I will need in the future, and giving up the rest. I not only have to do this in the US but will need to do this in the UK. Once the books and the rest are sorted out then figuring out what to do with the discards is  a consideration. I am sure I will get through it. I have been, but its tough.
